Pearls and pitfalls in aesthetic blepharoplasty: how to get great results and stay out of trouble

Review of patients for live surgery

An interactive session to review the preoperative photos of scheduled patients.  Delegates have the opportunity to suggest procedures and Dr Paul outlines the plan for upper and lower lid blepharoplasty.

Preoperative oral sedation and anxiolysis protocol
Eyelid marking and local anaesthesia
Incision placement
Skin only blepharoplasty
Skin-pinch lower blepharoplasty
Closure

Patient 2

Delegates are taken, step-by-step, through upper and lower blepharoplasty including:

Eyelid marking and local anaesthesia
Incision placement
Orbicularis and ROOF trimming
Orbital fat sculpting and meticulous haemostasis
Manoeuvres for defining the lid crease
Lacrimal gland identification +/- pexy
Closure

Orbital fat sculpting and meticulous haemostasis
Manoeuvres for defining the lid crease
Lacrimal gland identification +/- pexy
Transconjunctival lower lid approach

Transcutaneous lower lid blepharoplasty
Managing lower lid fat bulging transcutaneously
Orbicularis muscle sling for canthal support
Closure

Patient 5

Delegates are taken, step-by-step, through upper and lower blepharoplasty including:

Eyelid marking and local anaesthesia
Upper lid skin, muscle, fat excision
Approach to glabellar myectomy
Skin pinch lower lid blepharoplasty + skin resurfacing
Closure
